  • replying to u/pioneere99: See a lot of John Brown here recs here.  Having been in LIC for over ten years and gone to them for year, they have fallen off a lot and were already a little hit and miss.  Now mostly misses and will never forgive them for cancelling a Father’s Day order and lying about not telling us.  Ruined our whole dinner.  When they are off, everything is dry and subpar.  Stick with Hometown or Fette Sau.  Pig Beach location is great.  It’s not far from JB.

Now it’s 50/50 whether it’s going to be dry or not. The traffic is down and they just don’t make fresh stuff throughout the day anymore.

  • John Brown is the only good option, and those burnt ends are fucking fantastic. Their corn bread is also one of the best dishes in NYC.
