replying to u/DinerEnBlanc: Idk what your idea of a good bagel is but mine would have a crispy exterior with slight blistering and a chewy stretchy interior that isn’t too dense. My favorite bagel spot was run by an Asian dude in Brooklyn called. Best Bagels or something mundane like that, but he’s since retired. Nowadays I don’t each much bagels but I tend to gravitate towards shops that make em smaller, like how they used to back in the 90s.

replying to u/airscottie: Ess-a-bagel is spectacularly overrated. They're soft and bland without any of the crunch or doughy-ness that makes a NY bagel special. FiDi was already a great spot for bagels - and Apollo coming in is a much bigger deal than Essa- IMO
