  • They’re not meticulous with anything. Also another thing, I’d say some of his seasonal drinks are the best tasting ones, but keep in mind again. Depending on who makes your drink & you’ll get a good tasting one or a really bad one that you’ll have to end up throwing out

  • It's inconsistent. No one is trained properly. The machines are not maintained in any of the shops I've visited. Half the managers can't even steam milk properly

  • The ones I’ve been to at least have really good coffee, meaning smooth, rich and flavorful with no bitterness. The pastries are really good, freshly made and large.

  • They sell expired products and don’t care (I worked there I had to fight with management and team members to let me throw away expired things), overpriced, are rat and roach infested, and haven’t been paying their rents across almost all locations so the baristas walk in to eviction threats…

  • For me, Gregory’s is the worst I’ve ever tasted, far below Dunkin’ or Starbucks, which sit right on the two sides of my “not acceptable”/“just acceptable” line.

  • replying to u/some1105: I don’t know much about the whole “wave” coffee thing being discussed, but I recognize that coffee shop coffee quality exists along a spectrum (some of which is total personal preference). For me, Gregory’s is the worst I’ve ever tasted, far below Dunkin’ or Starbucks, which sit right on the two sides of my “not acceptable”/“just acceptable” line. I’d rather drink street cart coffee.

Their coffee tastes like burnt ass and it’s always so unbelievably hot. There are much better places in NYC than Gregory’s
