replying to u/epoops: As someone who had gotten 20 years of birthday cakes during prime birthday cake eating childhood ages (= super deep, never fading nostalgia for the cakes) from TLRH before they closed down… I’m going to say I have no hope. The owners gave a few false reopening timelines and even said they had secured a lease nearby the old location but obviously that did not come to fruition. I’ve gotten cakes from Ladybird in Brooklyn which is apparently where the TLRH people worked at first before going on their own, and I can say their Brooklyn blackout is essentially the same. And a number of their other items also tasted almost identical to the TLRH stuff, in my opinion. But it doesn’t replace the nostalgia factor for me, so I haven’t gotten stuff from there since my initial few times going. It’s kind of out of the way for me in a neighborhood I seldom go to and without the nostalgia factor, there’s other cake shops / bakeries I prefer. Hope someone else in the comments has some more up to date info!
