Crevette

6.5/10

AI-generated summary

People genuinely split on Crevette. The raw bar and the win over both camps, and the comes up again and again. The doubters say it's expensive and the cooked plates fall flat, calling the oily and the over sauced. Ordering raw is the common advice.

  • Checked out Crevette, the new seafood-focused spot from the folks behind Lords and Dame, and honestly, I found it a bit underwhelming.

  • We were not impressed. The Octopus was skewered with what tasted like steamed onions. The Razor Clams were mixed with some very bitter raw peas, rendering them inedible.

  • Food was good. Service was not so much. Their staff were all nice, but just too many mistakes - sending the wrong dish, missing something we ordered. Just ruined the whole experience

  • replying to u/melomuffin: Agreed with others. Went there on a bday date and thought it was good not great, fun dinner but not worth the price. A few items on the blander side all things considered. Still had a good time and the service was good, our waiter was super chill, which added to the experience

Great atmosphere and service, mixed on the food and yes, very expensive. I fund the menu disappointing in that it is pretty limited, though I know it changes.

  • The mushrooms are insane, the raw bar items (like the Swan Oyster Depot style Sicilian sashimi) are generally great, the deserts have all been good.

Crevette is definitely underrated. Going back again tonight in fact!
