replying to u/air-: HeyTea has immediately shot up to the top for my fave boba spots and their attention to detail was so impressive, especially when it came to brewing the tea Bare minimum for me is using real ingredients (no powder) and allowing the customer to set ice/sweetness, I also like: Chun Yang (apparently the Chinatown location is temporarily closed?), Wan Po, Yi Fang, Xin Fu Tang

replying to u/crazeman: **My Favorites:** Patisserie Fouet - French Japanese bakery and dessert Cha-an - OG Tea house and dessert spot. I'm a sucker for a good Japanese style parfait. The Black sesame creme brulee is also one of their signature dish and is delicious. Patisserie Tomoko is pretty great. I think the owner used to work at ~~Chikalicious~~. (their website says cha-an lol) Xing Fu Tang - Chain from Taiwan, Best bubble tea in NYC Beard Papa's - Japanese chain but it's my favorite cream puff. Good ole plain vanilla. Other cream puffs like alimama and bibble & sip are too fancy/sweet. Eight Turn Crepe - I don't like crepe cakes but I like Japanese dessert crepes lol. IDK if Eight Turn Crepe is the BEST spot out there but it was the first crepe spot I tried when they were in the west village? **Ice Cream-ish** Soft Swerve - Has a lot of Asian flavored, soft served ice cream. Like ube, black sesame, Milk Tea, Vietnamese Ice coffee, etc. Malai - A lot of Indian inspired flavors. Might be my favorite ice cream spot. Sky Ice - Very good selection of ice cream. Love their Palette option to taste everything with a friend/date. Sorbets are also insanely flavorful. **Honorable Mention:** Chikalicious - 3 course pre-fixe dessert bar. I think they are one of the first places to do a 3 course dessert. Really fun experience because you get to watch Chika work her magic and you can see she loves making them desserts. replying to u/gargar070402: Sorry for digging this up, but PLEASE don’t recommend Xing Fu Tang lol. It is the least authentic and most all frills boba shop you could possibly recommend. Literally anything else would be better.
