Also the ceramics that the food came out on were really cool. Pusu is a Chinese vegan spot that’s also really good! Truffle soup and fried mushrooms were 👌🏼, I’d stay away from items that are meant to replicate meat, I got a vegan offal dish that wasn’t my fave.

replying to u/thansal: The ones that I can think of but Jim didn't mention: * The Musket Room - I think that's the last that really fits your brief. * Daniel, Le Bernardin and many of Jean-Georges places have a veg tasting menu, but they're very much into full fine dining mode, which you might consider stuffy. * Hags has a vegan menu. * Hangawii is vegan and has a tasting menu (I think a la cart is better), same for Francia. But I think Jim was just correct, Dirt Candy or Family Meal. My one note on Family Meal is that if you're going as a group I suggest sticking to one set of dietary restrictions (ie: everyone should just be Vegetarian for the night). They'll serve a vegan meal next to an omnivore meal, but I think that sorta defeats the purpose of the place. Family Meal is also very much fine dining, but very casual.
