replying to u/crazeman: Patisserie Fouet has Sake Azuki, Miso Pistachio and Yuzu pound cakes. They don't have a whole pound cake listed on their menu, $6 for a slice. [They have it also available online for $35](https://www.fouetnyc.com/collections/pound-cakes) so it's probably in that price range?

replying to u/Infinite_Carpenter: To give your dessert list something more interesting and less touristy: Raf’s, Petite Chou, Lysee, Librae, Radio are all phenomenal. Best ice cream is caffe panna. Hands down. Essa and Brooklyn bagel can be avoided

replying to u/crazeman: Takahachi is good, I used to get the small one all the time for birthdays in the office. It is kinda small though but they also sell them in larger sizes. Harbs is a cafe chain from Japan and they have a few locations in NY. I've had a slice of their cake before and it was good. A slice is like $12, so a whole cake is expensive as heck. Something like \~$120-150 for a 9.5 inch cake? Chikalicious will also make whole cakes for you. I ordered one a long time ago and don't remember it being expensive. Probably have to call or email them to ask for the prices. Maybe Patisserie Fouet is worth a look too? They're a French-Japanese bakery at and they have a few cake listed on their website. Never had their cake but their regular desserts are pretty darn good so I have decent confidence on their cake being good. Lady M makes crepe cakes. I personally am not a big fan of crepe cakes in general. Also find them on the expensive side, like $120 for a cake? I feel like most of my Asian women friends go nuts for them but I rather have a regular cake.

IMO getting a huge half pastrami sandwich from Katz is pretty unique and iconic. Personally I would swap them with Clinton St Bakery or maybe Scarr's Pizza. Supermoon Bakehouse is also super good for croissants and other noms in the LES. Might be a good choice if you're looking for a coffee and a croissant/quick bite in the morning.  **Day 1:** Pick up a few [cheap meat skewers from the Uyghur meats cart](https://maps.app.goo.gl/go9uzD2mbQBzCjEh9) on your way back from dinner (cash only). They usually open from like 5pm to like midnight. **Day 3:** Gray's Papaya is an institution but it's really a generic hot dog with a pina colada lol. I would say grab a hotdog and a drink as a snack there but maybe not worth wasting a full meal for it? [Janie's Life Changing Baked Goods](https://maps.app.goo.gl/CgoZPhFYAVXBUtBF9) is 2 blocks from the museum and have these amazing pie crust cookies. Definitely worth trying. [Levain Bakery](https://maps.app.goo.gl/xGa6DTffGriakNKf7) is also a few blocks away from Janie's and I'd consider them a NYC institution for their cookies at this point. (On **Day 6** If you're going to the [Los Tacos No 1 location in SOHO](https://maps.app.goo.gl/XJQnsdKTxD1xED9J8), there is also a [Levain's literally right next door](https://maps.app.goo.gl/UjPMJ1FE6FoVQYBZ6))

replying to u/squirrelshine: Lifelong vegetarian here. Please, skip al di la, and instead , go to sofreh. Still in BK and near barclays but superior in every way. They often have reservation cancellations so add yourself to the resy list. Al di la is a mediocre disappointment.
