replying to u/hardware_error: Bagels = Tompkins Square Bagels in the east village. Everything bagel, lox, scallion cream cheese and with all the fixings. NOT TOASTED because you’re not a savage. Russ & Daughters if you want to go to a classic institution instead but I think TSB is better. If you go to Russ, grab a knish from Yonah Schimmel’s which is two blocks away. Pizza you can spend an entire day alone trying all the different forms of pizzas. Go to a place that sells slices, not pie only places. Because your short on time, go to West Village to cram in Joe’s for an original classic New York slice, L’Industrie for artisanal modern take on NY slice, and Mama’s Too for another style. If you have time, take the 7 from grand central to Flushing for a different version of Chinatown where there is actually an Asian population there with many many cheap eats.
