Angel's Share

8.1/10

AI-generated summary

A Japanese style bar that people name first for drinks. They call the room stunning and the cocktails match it, with the singled out. It's pricey, and some say the new West Village space doesn't hit like the old one. Go early if you want to walk in without a reservation.

Angel’s Share in the West Village rocks, though it’s pricey.

  • replying to u/igetlotsofupvotes: I personally feel meh about it. I’m a huge cocktail person and for Asian inspired bars I feel martinys and angel share are better. However I think it’s worth going once and trying it out. It’s undeniably unique and the drinks do taste like their food counterparts. I think my favorite was the plum shots.

everytime I’ve gone to the new Angel’s Share I’ve had horrible experiences service wise.

  • For me, Angel's Share over Katana Kitchen. Especially if you are looking for something more refined. The room is stunning. Cocktail's speak for themselves. Quite the experience.

  • replying to u/shamggar: Martiny’s was so underwhelming to me and everytime I’ve gone to the new Angel’s Share I’ve had horrible experiences service wise. Sip&Guzzle is destroying all currently

the whiskies and martinis at those two were excellent

  • replying to u/winkingchef: Apparently everyone is doing dry January except for me so let’s talk cocktails! * The absolute best of the “Asian Cocktails” group is [Angel’s Share](https://maps.app.goo.gl/bbSQyrsvgDYWuSf78?g_st=ic) in the West Village - if they still have Painted Paradise, it is an elite cocktail. * [Katana Kitten](https://maps.app.goo.gl/ERaLsJABMyRkFfYw5?g_st=ic) is nearby and more informal but super fun and great. Panda Fizzy is a pandan cocktail. * [Death & Co](https://maps.app.goo.gl/WoJ61mjezDwyioNYA?g_st=ic) is one of the best cocktail bars in the world and sometimes has Pandan cocktails (The Dark Web is the last I remember).

Angels share! Painted paradise is one of the best cocktails I’ve ever had

  • replying to u/caffeinewithchisme: In addition to Bar Moga, Bar Goto, and Ramen Ishida as others have shared here: * N Between inside Chelsea Market: Inventive drinks at a vinyl cocktail bar with mid-level food. * Omakase Room by Maaser in West Village: Intimate space. Fresh fish. Great service. * Katana Kitten in West Village: Worlds 50 Best. Good sandos. The basement level feels like you transported to another place. * Odo East Village: This might be a little more than $85/pp. Chef Hiroki Odo’s take on a kaiseki-style izakaya features a seasonal menu. I visited during their first month after opening, and the service was exceptional. This evenutally will be a hard-to-book spot. On my list and would love anyone's review on: * Martiny’s * (relocated) Angel Share * Midnight Blue * Yawning Cobra

Martiny's and Angel's Share are both excellent. Great quality and service.

  • replying to u/Chipcobandtea: I’ve cancelled the booking - I’m too old for vibes, I’m after good food and nice wine! The Dame menu looks good. I did have a chuckle at the fish and chips and “proper English chips” on the menu. No pressure! 😂

Dante, Katana Kitten, and Angel’s Share are great for cocktails!
