“IMHO temple canteen isn’t worth the trek from Harlem (Google is telling me an hour-plus by transit) relative to Saravanaa Bhavan. It’s perfectly good (and it’s a great incentive for me to go to the temple periodically!) but it’s not transcendent.”

replying to u/gbpenalty: As a South Indian who's eaten at both these locations multiple time, Semma dosa is definitely better quality but is it worth the $20? Nope. Not only does Saravana Bhavan have more varieties but also much more value at the current prices. Thiru (NY Dosa man) in WSP is also good. Temple Canteen is much better than Saravana Bhavan and Thiru but you've got to head out all the way to Flushing.
