The best part is that there's an [Omusubi Gonbei](https://maps.app.goo.gl/AR7em8qGnTUeA4at5) counter inside and they make really good onigiri/riceballs. Woorijip for cheap Korean takeout. If you're specifically getting gimbap, walk down the block and get them from [E-mo](https://maps.app.goo.gl/tHXedUv7jUAEwSX99) instead. Paris Baguette and Tous Les Jours are Korean bakery chains but they have good Korean buns. [Keki Modern Cakes](https://maps.app.goo.gl/tVQFkWFbrzB4coz18) have cheap jiggly Japanese cheesecakes. $16 for a whole cake, it's on the small side but worth a try. [Margon](https://maps.app.goo.gl/tp6yJm6TfaNHAJze7) is a hole in the wall Cuban lunch/breakfast counter. There's a slew of 2 bros/$1.50 fresh pizza/$1 fresh pizza spots in midtown. Maybe not "cheap" but pastrami sandwiches from 2nd Avenue or Sarge's Deli. $27 for a sandwich might be sticker shock but 1 pastrami sandwich is probably big enough to feed 2 people. Joju has "modern" vietnamese banh mi sandwiches.
