Most people say skip it. The gets called bland or sour, and the machines are automated, so nobody is pulling shots. The is the exception. It isn't high grade and it's very sweet, but the flavored ones have real fans.

  • The matcha isn't high quality (and they def don't whisk to order) but if you are new to matcha, the strawberry shortcake matcha latte is a good place to start. It's very sweet, but I liked it and can see why it's so popular.

BS does not have clean facilities. Their cold brew that needs to be refrigerated is only put in the fridge at night, if the closers choose to put it away. It common for them to replace the cold brew taps due to mold building up in them.

Coffee tasted like sewer runoff, the shop was oddly filled with a bunch of preteens in the middle of the day, and when i asked to use the restroom they pointed me to the nearest public toilet.

  • replying to u/BeerluvaNYC: They took over "Brunswick" in Brooklyn. Who owns them? Notice how a few years ago, it was all about Blank Street Coffee. Then a ton of locations close.

and Blank Street was just serving nespresso pods. more of a VC funded startup than a legitimate coffee shop

  • replying to u/jaded_toast: I thought this was a great selection of meals, and then I saw Blank Street. When I first heard the concept of a Venture Capital coffee chain based on the premise of "less expensive" coffee because it's supposed to be not as good coffee but better than bodega coffee, I thought it would fail, and it never ceases to baffle me not only that it's still going strong but has somehow managed to land itself as a tourist-destination coffee chain. Just, why??

It was super sweet and cloying. At that point just go to Starbucks. I hate them and tell people to stay away all the time.

  • replying to u/MasterOven4080: I actually like their hot drip! It’s tastier than some of the other fancier places. I do like devocion and birch better tho

while it’s not the best third wave roaster out there it’s pretty good coffee. Blank street has its other issues but I’m a fan of counter culture beans.
