replying to u/CabassoG: Sala is excellent Thai right there. Would likely need a reservation. Dessert- If you want to feel stuffed/are not full post dinner, Levain has good cookies. Would be good to split one (would rec the chocolate chip walnut) Others- Covacha is nearby and solid Mexican food albeit pricey, Miriam has good Israeli food, Jacob's Pickles is pretty solid Southern with massive portions though it's a bit loud, and Leyla is pretty good Turkish.

replying to u/JeanCerise: Yes. Bone marrow at Blue Ribbon Brasserie. I order it every time. Steak tartare and frites at Cafe Luxembourg. Same at Balthazar. Pad kee mao at Sala Thai. Egg toast caviar at any Jean Georges restaurant that has it.

replying to u/SadCombination7535: Every 15 blocks on the uws is basically it's own mini neighborhood. I'd recommend looking through the uws sun for specifics. Most people will say sushi yasaka, Sala Thai, and Jacob's pickle as general spots in the neighborhood. Essentials by Christophe is supposed to be a really good place for a special occasion. I love Leyla for a moderately nice occasion.
