replying to u/csgnyc: Gray's Papaya at 72nd and Broadway is NYC legend, if you like hot dogs. Best pizza is Made in NY pizza at 73nd and Amsterdam, but Little Italy Pizza and Pizza Collective are also good. My memory is that Chicago sushi offerings were slim, so I would suggest Sushi Yasaka on 72nd (will exceed $15). Also Shinbashi on 72 for fast Japanese takeout. Legend 72 is good Chinese -- i believe they have lunch specials.

Genuinely the freshest and best sushi for that price point I’ve found, everything on the menu is great. They have some unique rolls too like a blue crab California roll and chopped toro oshinko roll. Everything is insanely reasonably priced and it’s always super busy. The vibe inside is nothing extra at all, just white walls and tables. But the energy is super warm and buzzy and the food is genuinely excellent.

replying to u/SadCombination7535: Old John's luncheonette is a decent diner around there. There's a lot more food in the 70s than right next to Lincoln center. Sushi yasaka is a 12 minute walk away and has a great lunch special.
