  • replying to u/justflipping: Some of the top recommended dumpling spots have veggie and/or seafood options. Which menus have you looked at so far? I checked a few places from the list here ([Best non-pork dumplings?](https://www.reddit.com/r/FoodNYC/comments/1dwq7tj/best_nonpork_dumplings/)): - Buddha Bodai - King Dumpling - North Dumpling

Had tasty steamed veggie dumplings and a sesame pancake w/veg from North Dumpling last night. Enough for 3 people for under $20. It's always packed so the food is fresh every time I go.

  • I really like north dumpling’s hot and sour soup! Lots of pork, tofu, wood ear mushrooms and quite spicy!

  • Would like to add North Dumpling’s chive pancakes if eggs are ok! They’re not like flat scallion pancakes but are pockets stuffed with chives, eggs, and glass noodles and only $3 for 2.

Something I love about North Dumpling is their veggie dumplings are so flavorful too! Sometimes veg dumplings can be bland but theirs seem like more or less equal parts cabbage and ginger and are so flavorful.

  • replying to u/lovinglyvif: Tasty Dumplings and Wu's wonton are faves. North Dumplings is the sleeper hit.

North dumplings veg are especially good! it seems a lot of veggie dumplings end up with a mushy and bland filling but theirs are so gingery and have a nice filling texture form the cabbage!

  • King Dumplings and North Dumpling are fantastic. You can get stuffed on great dumplings for $5 -$10.

  • She’s so nice and the dumplings taste much better here, like they used to make at the Essex location. Same menu. Go support her business!

And add an order of fried pork and chive at North Dumpling if you have the time.

King Dumpling is also greasy and juicy with good flavor, similar to North Dumpling.

  • Also dumplings from North Dumpling in Chinatown

  • Also North Dumpling’s chive pancakes, which are kind of like fried dumplings stuffed with chives, eggs, and vermicelli. I honestly like them more than the dumplings.

  • North Dumpling's chive pancakes are cheap, vegetarian (but not vegan, they have egg), and amazing

I love chive pancakes from North. They remind me of my grandma's.

  • replying to u/Educational-Salt-979: I love chive pancakes from North. They remind me of my grandma's. However, I can I understand it may not be for everyone. Chinese chives can be too strong and their pancakes may be too authentic.

Also a great choice for vegetarian folks who can't eat the meat dumplings at all these places.

  • North dumpling has been my #1 spot forever! I’ve tried many dumplings and non come close to north dumplings fried pork and chive dumplings! I highly recommend this one, you won’t regret it!

  • Can’t stop thinking about their dumplings. What a place

  • replying to u/wipny: Sheesh carbs three ways! I always wanted to try this place. You can't go wrong with hearty carbs in the cold weather. PS - Anyone know if new-ish North Dumpling on Division is related the one on Essex? I saw the kind owner from the old branch at the Division St location a while back.

Dumplings are good as ever on Division w/ a bigger menu, the Essex location quality is marginally worse but has the same environs and Friday night LES crowd

    H2

  • North Dumpling on division does a chive pancake filled with egg and vermicelli that’s pretty tasty if you wanted another non-bun recc.
