  • But without a doubt this is the best burrito I’ve ever had in my life. Holy shit was it stuffed with steak.

  • I’ve gone twice and both times the burritos have been amazing EXCEPT their guacamole is disgusting. There is something so off about it and makes the entire thing inedible.

these are the best burritos I've had in NYC Damn they've gotten pricey though - at least at the new West village location everything went up a buck or two and they quit putting guac in the steak, so like $17 for a steak with guac and $9 for a plain bean and cheese. Excellent quality, but the value isn't really there any more for a counter service spot.

  • replying to u/aaihposs: I think son del north is the new popular spot where its beans? I havent tried yet so I can also be wrong. But them lines be lining

the cheese is really good but they use white bean and it’s too…. Beanie? Wish it was black beans. They also did a bad job distributing the ingredients so half the burrito was just cheese while the other half was just all mashed beans so it wasn’t as enjoyable

  • replying to u/BumFroe: Solid burrito but way too wet to really be elite, that being said, I eat it once a month

I actually found to to be more on the dry side tbh. One thing I will say is that the sauce they give you, sucks. It’s pretty flavorless. Guac was good and I loved the escabeche.

  • replying to u/jartoonZero: SON DEL NORTH carne asada w guac+extra cheese. Make sure you get a large green sauce on the side.

Last time I went the the asada was in huge chewy fatty under seasoned chunks. If I had a steak knife maybe but it was inedible and most of it ended up in the trash. So close to great in all other respects, but I don’t trust them.

  • We’ve gotten it twice and I really didn’t like it what so ever. It’s just kind of, I dunno slop in a burrito ? There’s no texture just mush

  • Carne Asada and Bean and Cheese burrito were both overrated to me. Their green sauce is pretty good but there are way better burritos in the city.

  • replying to u/benjaminflocka22: $39 fucking dollars for a burrito lmaoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo I hate doing the being from SF schtick but Jesus that's crazy, the cali-mex is pretty bad here but mariscos is good especially in Brooklyn/queens. the other guy is smoking crack saying Manhattan has best Mexican food. im biased loving mission style burritos for the rice, but understand the apprehension here because they do nutty things like peas and carrots in rice or cut the burrito in half.

I got this steak burrito yesterday (not double meat) and it was about $18 with guac… very good for NYC standards

  • This place does live up to the hype.  The green sauce is so addictive.
