“I avoided that place for a while because I didn't think they could be that cheap (they are - two people's tab, plenty of food, full carafe of wine, plus over 20% tip - less than $100) or better than Astoria (I'm *very* fond of Astoria's Greek restaurants...but it was) and I really didn't want to bother with any ridiculous NYC wait. But I would again.”

replying to u/TurbulentArea69: My husband is Greek and Kiki’s was one of his favorite places (after souvlaki GR) until covid and then it got wayyy worse. I wonder if they sold to new owners around then. Also, not paying taxes is as authentic Greek as it gets 😂

replying to u/PhillyBoyinNYC: Good question and I am remiss I wasn’t more specific- my friends are from west Texas and don’t have a ton of money - is it realistic for maybe 75.00 per person do you think? I mean there are plenty of place I eat at all the time for less than that - like Lin and Daughters for example but that’s not really a weekend dinner spot … I certainly have places I know I can go - was just looking to this group whom I trust so much to further my education

replying to u/thansal: Thoughts? Favorite item? Anything really stand out? You went hard on bagels (for good reasons) and Juniors. I've never actually been to Juniors (had their cheesecake from other people plenty of times) and I'm laughing may ass off at cheesecake in layer cake. The red velvet looks less ridiculous than the chocolate, but still. Not saying I wouldn't smash that, but it's still wacky.
