replying to u/Inter_932: Thing is, it didn’t really read like a positive review, did it? Le Veau d’Or is easily a three- or four-star experience—even on a slow night. Meanwhile, Priya’s reviews of places like Bungalow and Carnitas Ramirez are full-on love letters, packed with detail. And don’t get me wrong, I love both Ramirez spots—but scarfing down suadero and cabeza at a tiny counter isn’t the same as a three-hour dinner at VDO, where every part of the experience—food, wine, service—has been dialed in with care. It kinda felt like she reviewed VDO because she had to. It’s an “important” restaurant, sure. But did she really care about what Riad, Lee, and the team are doing there? Yeah, she gave it two stars, but the tone was so whatever—barely engaged. Almost like she was checking a box.

If you choose those please know you will be paying only for the atmosphere and the history...the food is absolute horseshit. Chipotle is better I would expand the budget a bit ane do Per Se at Columbus Circle...a once in a lifetime meal and worth every damn penny

So this is a lot of complaining for no reason. It’ll be interesting to see if the restaurant responds.
