replying to u/Ok-Mortgage6315: Half the things on ur list need to do. Please listen to me. Do NOT get halal guys, Peter Lugers, joes pizza, ANY OF THOSE HAMBURGER OPTIONS, or Los tacos no1. I literally just had a buddy visit and I took him everywhere I could in a week. You will be too full for your entire list. I recommend Ichiran for ramen, an omakase sushi experience (sushi by bou), for a burger go to Emily’s for a high end burger or 7th street for cheap smash burgers, Katz is worth it, for pizza, go to John’s on bleeker or go to queens and have amores. For a steakhouse do not do Luger. It’s overrated af. Best steak is at 4 Charles but it’s impossible to get into. Try keens or some of the other names. Google best ribeye and check out threads. There’s so many other options. For halal, do not do halal guys. I’m not trying to be some unique contrarian guy, it’s actually terrible. Any halal cart off the corner tastes better than halal guys. I am in disbelief that halal guys are as famous as they are. One of my fave halal carts was this red cart that won the vendi awards on 44th street and 6th avenue. You can even make the rice biryani rice. Hope I helped.

replying to u/kmpham2013: Los Mariscos This place felt like a little speakeasy coming from the wide hall that leads to the huge trompo-bearing establishment that is Los Tacos No. 1. Regulars know that it’s better eating and a better experience overall than going to the one everyone else is lining up for. Ceviche Especial - Just perfect. A crispy tostada drizzled with crema and topped with a layer of light and sweet ceviche. The crisp cucumbers added another layer of juicy vegetal crunch to contrast the dry and corny crisp of the tostada, the dense and chewy octopus and clam contrasted the sweet light and tender shrimp and scallop. A real treat and a dish that truly showcases the generations of amazing cuisine of Mexico. We got the fish, shrimp, and enchilada taco which all unfortunately fell short. The fry on the seafood just got lost in the wetness of the salsa and lettuce, and the tortillas didn’t really add much. The ratio of meat to lettuce was also way off, resulting in me searching hard for my meat in the vegetable jungle. The fish was also overcooked. Maybe if I go back to Los Mariscos I’ll stick to the ceviches and aguachiles.

replying to u/emceebugman: This place and Sobre Masa are examples of actual molinos here in NYC. Most other places making “fresh tortillas” are using maseca, which is dried nixtamalized corn flour from a bag. It’s a totally different flavor.
