Breakfast by Salt's CureCHAIN

5.8/10

AI-generated summary

These are oat griddle cakes, not fluffy pancakes, and that is the whole argument. Fans love the charred crisp edges and the cinnamon butter. Everyone else says the middle eats like wet oatmeal, and there is no syrup. Get the original plain, people say toppings make it stodgy. Lines run long, so go on a weekday or right at open.

  • Breakfast by salts cure is my favorite. Buttery with a little crisp on the outside. It’s not your standard pancake, but the best I’ve had in NYC.

big fan of breakfast by salt's. it's up to everyone individual preference since it's not your traditional fluffy pancakes, but i like the hybrid-crepe style and the charred griddled edges

Carbone (need a res) 5. monkey bar because you won’t get into corner (could walk in solo but res is advised) 6. Salts cure for me, most people will prefer golden diner 7. 4 Charles but au cheval isn’t bad - just different vibe and less service 8. You can easily do both they’re like 10 minutes apart in midtown - if you’re asking for specific items: magnolias cupcakes

I didn’t enjoy salt cure at all. Was a two hour wait and the pancake is more on the well done side and they only serve with butter (no syrup), so it wasn’t for me

  • replying to u/Garconavecunreve: I had them (the og plain) last 3 months ago and they were very good as ususal; also looked nothing like yours tbh. I generally wouldn’t recommend Salts cure if you’re after classic diner style or fluffy pancakes, they are an oatmeal griddle cake after all…

I’ll never order from this place again they aren’t even really good, the cinna butter carried, the oat pancakes were strange tasting tbh
