“Artichoke is great after a long night. But you have to be into it.”
“It's huge, heavy and loaded with their (I think) Alfredo style sauce with artichoke hearts... And topped with some mozzarella for good measure. You can feel your heart start to struggle during and after eating it, worth it though.”
“the artichoke slice is a last meal kind of pizza slice but it is insanely good and can be an entire meal for one day in a single slice it's so filling and full of calories and fat.”
“I actually think the pepperoni slice is solid, although more of a Detroit style than NYC. The artichoke slice is pretty awful in my opinion, drenched in gallons of greasy white sauce.”
“It’s sloppy and simply isn’t on the level of the other great NYC spots. The actual artichoke slice is a stick of butter on top of bread with a few artichoke hearts.”
“It sucks unless you get the Sicilian and specifically eat it fresh out of the oven/a whole pizza rather than a reheated slice, then it’s really good.”
“This was exactly my experience as well. It's bland and it tastes like thick cardboard topped with paste. I've had it twice while drunk and never finished more than a few bites”
“100% agree that Artichoke is the worst. I have no idea what the fuss is all about. Their artichoke slice was soupy, and more or less gross. Their regular was passable - nothing to write home about.”
“The vodka square at Artichoke slice is really good. I’m not a huge fan of their other slices.”
“Pizza I would def try the artichoke slice at Artichoke. Some people hate it but most love it. It’s not anything like a typical slice of pizza. If you love artichoke and creamy Alfredo type sauces then you’ll love this.”
“The artichoke slice at Artichoke tastes like someone dumped a can of Campbell's cream of broccoli soup on pizza dough, put a bit of cheese on top, and called it a slice. Definite pass unless you are faded, as you said.”
“I’ve tried to give them a shot no fewer than >dozen times and have never, not once, had a positive experience. Didn’t matter which location, a whole pie, or a slice. Plain, artichoke, or pepperoni. Just trash, all of it. Either burnt to shit or a soggy buttery mess.”
“It's just bad. I've given it multiple chances, drunk and sober, and I've never finished the more than a few bites. It's bland, pasty, and has the texture of cardboard”
“Their artichoke slice is trash. Way too much bechamel and salty AF. Cut the sauce in half and add more artichokes, maybe then it would work, cause as it is, it's just a bad artichoke dip with bread.”
“The Artichoke at Terminal 5 in JFK is the worst pizza i've had in NYC. Just a massive slop of undercooked dough, wayyy too much sauce and incredibly greasy cheese. So gross”
“I think it’s overhyped but sometimes it has hit the spot.”
“Artichoke has always been shit, even when you look at it as an artichoke soup served on top of soggy bread. It really is one of the worst things you can try in any pizzeria around the world.”
“It’s good for about three bites and then you realize you have this massive wedge of rapidly cooling artichoke dip and butter and it gets so hard to eat so quickly”
“Artichoke I think is great if and only if you get the Sicilian and get it fresh out of the oven or as a whole pizza. Margherita is just average and Sicilian drops drastically in quality when reheated.”
“Artichoke Basille the most overrated.”
“Sober Artichoke pizza.”
“I liked it the first time and then liked it less and less. It’s just kinda sloppy, and starts to taste less good as soon as it’s not piping hot”
“artichoke is the worst sober pizza and the best drunk pizza”
“the way i see it, first bite is awesome. each consecutive bite is exactly half as good as the one that came before it”
“Artichoke is like eating a Marie Callender’s Fettuccini Alfredo.”
“Artichoke is good when your 23, broke and it's the only thing you've eaten all day. Bonus points if it's 10p-4a.”
“I actually like the artichoke slice. I know it's not a traditional pizza but if you like artichoke dip it slaps.”
“I think they make a great slice and it’s quite different from what you’d get in most other places.”
“One bite and I said nope. It wasn't even the taste. It's the texture. I don't even know if there really was a taste.”
“I'm loving it for about three bites...and then I'll start feeling gross and borderline nauseous. I don't think that I've ever finished more than half of a spinach artichoke slice in my life”
“Had hellacious 4am shits, and my arms hurt every time I wiped from holding a 12 lb. pizza on the train for 40m. Would still recommend.”
“Worst : artichoke slice from artichoke”
“Artichoke Pizza is on my Mount Rushmore of late night drunk foods. The vodka slice slaps too”
“The artichoke slice while a great value is more of a novelty slice and something that’s good once in a while or drunk late at night.”
“Each component is well made and top notch ingredients and best in class on their own. For some reason, the sum of the parts does not match what could be?”
“That artichoke slice is vile”
“Sue me but I do love their namesake slice when I’m drunk”

“You don’t like a slab of goop on a thick slice of cardboard?”
“It tastes great, it's cheap. It's not what I get when I want a *good* slice of pizza, it's what I need when I want cream soup on dough.”
“Now, whenever I get Artichoke, it's somehow too crunchy *and* too saucy, and feels like it's gonna kill me.”
“Worth a try IMO, I liked it.”
