It's huge, heavy and loaded with their (I think) Alfredo style sauce with artichoke hearts... And topped with some mozzarella for good measure. You can feel your heart start to struggle during and after eating it, worth it though.

the artichoke slice is a last meal kind of pizza slice but it is insanely good and can be an entire meal for one day in a single slice it's so filling and full of calories and fat.

  • replying to u/Easy-F: Artichoke pizza place is vomitous vile filth, straight from satan’s anus. It is not pizza. It is not food. it is not right. If you like it you’re going to hell.

I actually think the pepperoni slice is solid, although more of a Detroit style than NYC. The artichoke slice is pretty awful in my opinion, drenched in gallons of greasy white sauce.

  • It’s sloppy and simply isn’t on the level of the other great NYC spots. The actual artichoke slice is a stick of butter on top of bread with a few artichoke hearts.

It sucks unless you get the Sicilian and specifically eat it fresh out of the oven/a whole pizza rather than a reheated slice, then it’s really good.

  • This was exactly my experience as well. It's bland and it tastes like thick cardboard topped with paste. I've had it twice while drunk and never finished more than a few bites

  • replying to u/curbthemeplays: Favorite: Joe’s on Carmine and Louie’s and Ernie’s Underrated: Luigi’s Brooklyn Worst: Artichoke I was also really let down by Juliana’s lately, because I’m pretty fond of the OG Grimaldi’s back in the day. I’m not impressed with any of the trendy spots but do still have to try Lucali. I’m a die hard New Haven pizza snob at heart.

100% agree that Artichoke is the worst. I have no idea what the fuss is all about. Their artichoke slice was soupy, and more or less gross. Their regular was passable - nothing to write home about.

  • replying to u/ZestycloseFactor780: while it isn’t a typical ny slice, artichoke pizza is sooooo good. Their Margherita pizza changed me from a thin crust pizza hater to a thin crust lover. their artichoke pizza is also phenomenal, but I don’t know how anyone could eat a whole slice without puking tbh

The vodka square at Artichoke slice is really good. I’m not a huge fan of their other slices.

  • Pizza I would def try the artichoke slice at Artichoke. Some people hate it but most love it. It’s not anything like a typical slice of pizza. If you love artichoke and creamy Alfredo type sauces then you’ll love this.

  • replying to u/why_squ1rtle: That’s a lot of artichoke. In my memory that slice is only good if ur faded at 2am. I don’t recall it being good when sober

The artichoke slice at Artichoke tastes like someone dumped a can of Campbell's cream of broccoli soup on pizza dough, put a bit of cheese on top, and called it a slice. Definite pass unless you are faded, as you said.

  • I’ve tried to give them a shot no fewer than >dozen times and have never, not once, had a positive experience. Didn’t matter which location, a whole pie, or a slice. Plain, artichoke, or pepperoni. Just trash, all of it. Either burnt to shit or a soggy buttery mess.

    H3

  • It's just bad. I've given it multiple chances, drunk and sober, and I've never finished the more than a few bites. It's bland, pasty, and has the texture of cardboard

    H3

  • Their artichoke slice is trash. Way too much bechamel and salty AF. Cut the sauce in half and add more artichokes, maybe then it would work, cause as it is, it's just a bad artichoke dip with bread.

  • The Artichoke at Terminal 5 in JFK is the worst pizza i've had in NYC. Just a massive slop of undercooked dough, wayyy too much sauce and incredibly greasy cheese. So gross

  • Artichoke has always been shit, even when you look at it as an artichoke soup served on top of soggy bread. It really is one of the worst things you can try in any pizzeria around the world.

  • replying to u/rolltribe: Skip Artichoke's lol

It’s good for about three bites and then you realize you have this massive wedge of rapidly cooling artichoke dip and butter and it gets so hard to eat so quickly

  • replying to u/RecycledAccountName: Artichoke is a wild take.

Artichoke I think is great if and only if you get the Sicilian and get it fresh out of the oven or as a whole pizza. Margherita is just average and Sicilian drops drastically in quality when reheated.

  • I liked it the first time and then liked it less and less. It’s just kinda sloppy, and starts to taste less good as soon as it’s not piping hot

  • replying to u/Kitchen-Programmer78: Artichoke Basille the most overrated. Whatever pizza is nearest to you is the most underrated.

artichoke is the worst sober pizza and the best drunk pizza

  • replying to u/Tejon_Melero: Sober Artichoke pizza.

the way i see it, first bite is awesome. each consecutive bite is exactly half as good as the one that came before it

I'm loving it for about three bites...and then I'll start feeling gross and borderline nauseous. I don't think that I've ever finished more than half of a spinach artichoke slice in my life

  • replying to u/Possible-Source-2454: I dont love it actually, but one really drunk night artichoke pizza sent me into a decline where i was fine previously.

Had hellacious 4am shits, and my arms hurt every time I wiped from holding a 12 lb. pizza on the train for 40m. Would still recommend.

  • The artichoke slice while a great value is more of a novelty slice and something that’s good once in a while or drunk late at night.

  • Each component is well made and top notch ingredients and best in class on their own. For some reason, the sum of the parts does not match what could be?

Artichoke isn’t real pizza, it’s cream dip on pizza crust.

an Artichoke slice is absolutely fantastic. How can you enjoy regular pizza and not enjoy crispy bread topped with a pound of cream and cheese ???

    H2

  • It tastes great, it's cheap. It's not what I get when I want a *good* slice of pizza, it's what I need when I want cream soup on dough.

  • replying to u/Tejon_Melero: Sober Artichoke pizza.

Now, whenever I get Artichoke, it's somehow too crunchy *and* too saucy, and feels like it's gonna kill me.
