Crown Shy

Get the and the pull-apart bread. A lot of people say the desserts and cocktails are better than the food, which plenty call mid for the price. The chicken is the one entree regulars keep naming. Service runs slow and the room is loud.

  • Everything, from the beef carpaccio to the marinated chicken to the ice cream to the BREAD was succulent, rich, and bursting with flavor. Most people believe restaurant week isn’t worth it anymore, and justifiably so - but it’s hard to imagine you’re going to find better cooking for $60.

  • I thought crown shy was pretty terrible when I went for a Friday night. Service was slow (to the point where it was 30 minutes between app and main), and the food just wasn’t memorable or good.

  • replying to u/mc19992: Crown Shy was underwhelming since the day it opened, never deserved the star to be honest, many better and more deserving restaurants out there.

Have to say, I’m super disappointed where it’s at now and really miss what it used to be.

  • Recently went to Crown Shy and it is actually terrible. Our food came out cold twice the server was running around like a chicken without a head. On top of that the food was ok at best

  • replying to u/QuesoDelDiablos: I did not like crown shy. It is the kind of place that charges $38 for a “small” plate of like 3 scallops. The food is ok, but nothing special. I and some friends had to leave there hungry because it probably would have cost $600 to have a full meal there.

Completely agree. Except our meal there was actually pretty bad starting from the bread service. Rarely have we paid so much for so little.

  • replying to u/yoerez: Check out CROWN SHY if you liked Manhatta. Same neighborhood, incredible food. Just had the octopus dish last night and it was to die for. And if you want a view go to their upstairs bar before / after dinner (Overstory)

Went to Crown Shy last RW the portion was pathetically small for dinner. I'm talking about three small pieces of razor clam that were not even three whole clams.

  • replying to u/flyingcrayons: Crown shy is good with a group because they do things family style, with a larger group you can get more of the dishes to split. Service was good, vibe was awesome, food was good Pretty typical 1 star experience nothing too crazy but what you’d expect. The real highlight is if you stop by Manhatta before or after for a drink imo

Didn't care for the vibe at Crown Shy, it was extremely corporate/finance people and the restaurant was extremely loud. Frankly, it was the loudest restaurant I've been to in years.

Crown Shy I've had excellent food. The service has been very off. Rude servers who aren't happy to be serving. Happened twice. The cooking is so well done, but front of house is broken.
